PENILE AUGMENTATION SURGERY

APPENDIX 3

HOW PATIENTS HAVE JEOPARDIZED THEIR RESULTS

No matter how long or how many times patients are told to wait before engaging in sexual activity, many do not.  One man claimed to have ripped all of his stitches open while walking his dog.  The dog, supposedly, lunged and all the stitches ripped.  The doctor said there is no possible way this could happen unless the leash was attached to the man’s penis.  The man later admitted to engaging in oral sex with a partner within a couple days of surgery.

Dr. C interviewed a man before his scheduled penile enlargement and asked him about his current health practices.  The man did not reveal any harmful activities that could jeopardize his results.  Every patient signs a release form that makes the men promise not to smoke or consume alcohol  30 days prior to surgery or six months afterwards.  After the surgery, the man returned to the office with a huge open wound.  The antibiotics were less effective and he was admitted to the hospital.  Dr. C found out that the man had not revealed his habit of smoking four packs a day or being a heavy drinker.  These habits can lead to constriction of the small arteries and intensify scarring.
